Rebecca Elkin was a competitive gymnast for 6 years. She was on Donna's gymnastics team in the early 90's, when RGA was owned by the YMCA. Donna's memories of Rebecca as a gymnast, were that she was very quiet, hardworking, and dedicated. She is the same wonderful way as a gymnastics teacher. We absolutely adore Rebecca. Every student that crosses her path is on a very visible curve of constant improvement, due to Rebecca's instruction. Rebecca is very good at teaching details, and the every important basics of gymnastics. Each student leaves her completely prepared for what is to come. Rebecca is very patient, and it shows. She doesn't get riled up when a student can't do something. Her laid back, patient manner has definitely resulted in a growth of the student body at RGA since her arrival. Rebecca's hobbies outside of the gym, are rising motorcycles, and attending classes at UNC-G. Her main reason for deciding to get a job at RGA, was she missed gymnastics, and says it feels great to get back into the gym. Rebecca is pursuing a career in Exercise & Sports Science, with a concentration in P.E. She hopes to someday become a P.E. Teacher. Her biggest inspiration in life is her Mom, Linda, who she says is a wonderful Mom & Grandmother, who has always been very strong & determined to make it on her own & support her family. Rebecca is very good with her students at RGA. What a lucky break we had, to be able to get her on board with our staff! Hopefully Rebecca will be around for many years to come!
