Donna Hughes

Donna Hughes, has been coaching gymnastics, and making champions since 1989.  She has coached many State and National champions.  Some of her former students have gone on to become college gymnasts & cheerleaders.  Some of her former champions have become part of our staff!
Donna cheered for Southwestern Randolph High School Varsity with the owner of RGA, Tana Dunlap.  As cheerleaders their squad won 2nd in the State for 2 years, 1st in Randolph County for 3 years, 1st at Eastern UCA Regionals and 14th in the Nation at UCA Nationals 8th in the nation at NCA Nationals.

A former school teacher & Realtor, Donna is currently making waves in the music world as a songwriter.  One of her songs was recorded by Multiple-Grammy Winning Artist, Alison Krauss.  The song appears on Alison's "Lonely Runs Both Ways" album, which received a Grammy for "Country Album of the Year in 2005."  Alison sang Donna's song at the 39th Annual CMA Awards in New York City, in the fall of 2005!
Donna also released a CD, on the same label where Alison Krauss makes her home, Rounder Records.  Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alison, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and other big names appeared as on Donna's latest CD.
Donna enjoys staying busy, traveling on the weekends to play music, working on the website & coaching during the week. She is anxious to make champions, and awesome tumblers out of many more young people at RGA in the coming years.
